Since most of these elephants are injured or orphaned they are in their care. Elephants and humans have a familiar bond that is a sight to behold during feeding or bathing. After taking in this spectacle resume your journey to Sigiriya.
Tour this city on day six to learn about its history. You will come across constructions that date back years when you explore. Head to the temple of the Tooth Relic to witness its glory. Peradeniya will be your next stop as you visit the Botanical Gardens to implore its natural wealth and do some shopping for traditional Sri Lankan crafts like gems, batik, silks and woodwork.
On the morning of day five, you can take on the challenging pursuit of climbing the Sigiriya Rock Fortress in time to see the sunset. Afterwards, depart for Kandy and stop at the Spice Gardens to explore its history and receive a head and shoulder massage. Once you arrive, witness a cultural dance.
Explore the hills of Hatton that are graced with tea plantations that create the excellent tea of Sri Lanka. You can sample some of this tea as you enjoy the cool climate.
